Wilderness recreation training facility
It was our goal to develop a facility that reflected who we are as wilderness recreation educators and enthusiasts. This is expressed by the rugged character of the building and by all of the artificial and natural instructional amenities we added.
Thanks in part to the generosity of John Goodman and many other "Friends of Magnuson Climbing" we have built the best urban outdoor climbing facility in the United States. This public climbing plaza cost over $500,000 to build and will teach generations of enthusiasts basic mountaineering skills.
Goodman Hall (the main hall) is set up to host such events as The Banff Film Festival facing one way and to host indoor climbing instruction and practice in the other.
